Places of Interest
The Coach House is perfectly placed for walkers or those who simply want a peaceful escape into some of Britain’s finest countryside, but it is also on the doorstep of a variety of attractions.

The Lake District with its Beatrix Potter and Wordsworth connections, the Yorkshire Dales and the Howgill Fells are all less than half an hour’s drive away, and a rewarding meander through the Eden Valley could take in the acclaimed Orton Farmers Market to the south and Hadrian’s Wall country to the north. Eastwards you will find the North Pennines, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Bowes Museum and Barnard Castle also await.

Warcop itself, with its shop and post office, is a classic English village standing just five miles from Appleby, venue of the famous annual Horse Fair and a stop on the Carlisle-Settle railway line. For those special occasions, nearby Brough is home to the fine cuisine of Augill Castle, a classic Victorian Gothic country house hotel.
